The Best Part of Nassau Isn't in Nassau.
Most Nassau shore excursions keep you within a mile of the ship. Trade seven hours of straw market and duty free for a private island eight miles out: a Bahamian lunch, crystal clear water and a cruise excursion you can book direct. You're back on board with the best story at your table.
Will You Make It Back in Time?
Most ships sit in Nassau from morning until evening. Here's where those hours go when you spend them with us, on ship time, with enough buffer built in.
A Cruise Day That Adds Up
Your ship gives you the day and here's what happens to those hours when you spend them eight miles out. One tip before you start: set your phone to ship time, it switches to local automatically and that's how people miss departures.
Nassau’s Port Is Not the Bahamas
Six ships can tie up at Prince George Wharf on the same morning. That's over thirty thousand people funneling onto one waterfront, into the same straw market, the same duty-free stores, the same crowded stretch of sand. It's lively. It's loud. It's also not the picture that made you book this cruise.
That picture is eight miles east: a lighthouse on a private island, two beaches with more chairs than people and water so clear the pigs look like they're floating. You can be there before the pier finishes emptying and back before it fills up again.
How Our Nassau Shore Excursion Works
Through the gates
- Off the gangway, out of the port and the taxis are already lined up waiting. Fixed government rates, no negotiating required.
Over the bridge
- Tell the driver "Paradise Island Ferry Terminal, behind Margaritaville." Ten minutes later, you're there. Booked the Swimming Pigs Express? Even simpler: Stroll east along Bay Street, Elizabeth on Bay Marina is 5 to 10 minutes on foot.
Find the yellow polos
- That's us. Show your confirmation on your phone, get your wristband, breathe out. Check-in closes 15 minutes before the boat leaves.
Cast off
- The catamaran needs about 25 minutes. Somewhere in the middle, downtown disappears, the water turns a color your camera won't believe, and your port day officially becomes an island day.
Two ways this day goes wrong, both avoidable.
1. The water taxi: Charming idea, chaotic timetable, and our ferry can't wait for it. Land taxi over the bridge, always.
2. Your phone: It quietly switches to local time while your ship stays on ship time. Set it manually before you step off and all-aboard stays exactly where you left it.
Booking Direct vs Cruise Line Excursion Desk
Chances are we're already in your cruise line's excursion catalog: more than 20 lines calling at Nassau sell Pearl Island days, from Royal Caribbean and Carnival to Disney, MSC and Virgin.
Book direct with us instead and the same island costs less, cancels free up to 24 hours and carries no booking fee. Your call, we're happy either way! See you on the island!
Nassau Cruise Excursion Questions
A standard Nassau call runs morning to evening and our 5-hour experiences fit inside it with room to spare. If your ship leaves unusually early, say before 5:00 PM, ring us first. If it doesn't fit, we'll say so and save you the stress; there's always the next cruise.
Book through your cruise line's excursion desk and yes, that's the deal ships honor. Book direct and no, so we built the timetable to make waiting unnecessary: dock at 3:30 PM, gangway by four-ish, sailaway from the pool deck.
Around $5+ per person each way, fixed by the government, so every driver charges the same. The ride over the bridge takes 5 to 10 minutes. Pigs Express guests can skip the cab altogether and walk to the marina from the port gates.
One call to +1.242.698.9970 and we'll sort it. New arrival time, moved all-aboard, dropped port: if another departure has space, you're on it and if Nassau got scrapped entirely, our Cancellation Policy covers you. Booked via your ship? Then their desk refunds automatically and you don't even need the call.
Bring almost nothing: swimsuit under your clothes, towel, sunscreen, a card. Lockers on the island cost $10 for the day and the fresh-water showers mean you'll walk back up the gangway looking like you spent the day at a spa, not in the ocean.
Then you watch a ten-minute shower pass from under a shaded deck with a drink, which is its own kind of holiday. Only if the crossing itself becomes unsafe do we cancel, our call, not yours and you pick between full refund and another date. Ship bookings get refunded through the cruise line without lifting a finger.
The Story at Dinner Tonight? That's This.
While the table talks about the straw market, you'll have swum with pigs on a private island. Book direct, best price, back by four.
