What our Guests say
"You see the plane first and it takes a second to register. Bring a camera you can take in the water."
"No tank, no certification, just a mask. My teenagers said it was the coolest thing all week."
"Different to a normal reef snorkel. Fish have moved in, so it's becoming a reef of its own."
Before You Get in the Water
Something you won't find on an ordinary snorkel tour. Just below the surface, you'll discover a sunken aircraft, a group of underwater statues and a sunken boat, all resting on the white-sand seabed and slowly becoming part of the marine environment. The installation is exclusive to Pearl Island, making it a truly unique snorkeling experience in Nassau.
No previous snorkeling experience is required. The sculptures rest in shallow, clear water, so you can see them from the surface with just a mask and snorkel, no diving required.
You do need to be a confident swimmer and comfortable in open water. Every tour begins with a safety briefing, and your guide stays with the group throughout the experience.
The minimum age for the Sunken Sculpture Snorkeling Tour is 8 years old, and all participants must be able to swim.
Younger children are still welcome to enjoy Pearl Island's beaches and other available island activities while the rest of the family snorkels.
Absolutely! You'll want to. The sunken sculptures, clear water and white-sand bottom make this one of our most photogenic snorkeling experiences.
Bring a waterproof phone pouch or action camera if you have one. Just make sure it's securely attached before getting in the water.
They're two completely different underwater experiences.
Our Reef Snorkeling Tour is all about nature — living coral, tropical fish and the marine life that calls the reef home.
The Sunken Sculpture Snorkeling Tour is about exploring something unexpected: a sunken aircraft, statues and a boat resting beneath the surface and gradually becoming part of the underwater environment.
If you love marine life, choose the reef. If you want something unusual, memorable and incredibly photogenic, choose the Sunken Sculptures. Or come back and experience both.
Yes. A traditional Bahamian lunch is included with your experience, along with round-trip ferry transportation, access to Pearl Island's two white-sand beaches, beach chairs and selected non-motorized watersports.
Something you won't find on an ordinary snorkel tour. Just below the surface lie a sunken aircraft, a group of underwater statues and a sunken boat, all resting on a white-sand seabed and gradually being taken over by the sea. The site sits in Pearl Island's own water, so the only way to snorkel it is as a guest of the island.
